Paris Airport Transfer: CDG & Orly

Paris has two main airports, and neither is what most first-time visitors expect: both are a real trip from the city center, not a short hop. Here's what to know before you land.

CDG to Paris

Charles de Gaulle sits about 25 km / 16 miles northeast of central Paris — 45 minutes to an hour by road depending on traffic, longer during rush hour. The RER B train is the budget option but involves stairs, transfers for many hotel areas, and no real luggage space. A private van picks you up at arrivals and takes you straight to your hotel.

Orly to Paris

Orly is closer, about 13 km / 8 miles south of the city, but has fewer direct rail connections — most public transport routes involve at least one change. For a first arrival after a long flight, or a late-evening departure, a private van removes that extra step entirely.
